Nigeria finally appears to be heading for Civil War over mixed reactions for the agitation for a restructuring of the country.
While
some Nigerians are in support, some remain opposed to it and this has
sparked outrage with some highly-placed Nigerians proposed the use of
force.
One
of such eminent Nigerians is Senator Femi Okurounmu who denounced the
Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, for opposing the
call for a restructuring of the country.
The
fiery Senator said if the north remains opposed to restructuring as if
they are the owners of the country, they should, as a matter of fact, be
forced to no matter whose ox is gored.
According
to him, “I am not surprised by the statement of the AGF that the north
will not support restructuring. The North does not want the status quo
to change. They have always seen themselves as the only people fit to
rule Nigeria. Anyway, we did not expect them to say otherwise; we must
now force them.''
“The
people supporting restructuring are in the majority, hence, the
minority cannot override us. And if they don’t want, we can then break
Nigeria into two. They can go their own and we go on our way. That is
the solution. We should stop asking them but force it on them, whether
they want it or not.”
