As
part of President Adama Barrow's firm resolve to carry out major social
reforms in the The Gambia, a massive purge of the country's security
agencies has led to the arrest and detention of Mr Sowe, the Director
General of Gambia’s State Intelligence Services (SIS).
The
purging also saw the removal of the country's police boss Yankuba Sonko
together with his deputy and replaced with Landing Kinteh, a career
police prosecutor.
Also
as part of the shake-up, the country's immigration service - the
Department of Immigration was not spared either as former DG Pa Mboob
and his Deputy Landing Jarju, were also replaced.
However, Buba Sanyang takes over with immediate effect as the new Immigration Chief.
